Brilliantly written. So refreshing to read this genre written with such style and turn of phrase. I enjoyed reading it for the linguistic excellence alone but the story was so clever and the book a real page turner. I was congratulating myself on solving it but was wrong!!
Just one thing, redback spiders in Australia don’t kill people. There hasn’t been a death from a bite for eons. A normal adult would just feel a bit poorly, a child more so. The deaths had underlying circumstances. Should have chosen a funnel web or something and researched a bit more.
Brilliant book though.

I’m sure that’s absolutely true about the redback, and the dangers of not researching, and… I’ve really no excuse since my sister lives in Australia (although we could consider blaming her for not catching it?).
Ultimately, though, I’m going to pull out the good old ‘get out of jail free’, ‘artistic licence’ card. 🙂
